Full Version: D.S.R stop playing LW and TFD
So here it is, the day which was bound to come. The day when D.S.R officially decide to write the finishing words in two chapters of our history: Delta Force Land Warrior and Task Force Dagger.
DF:LW was the first game ever played by The Dirty Ratz, and it marked the beginning of a great community. We set out as total noobs with one goal only: having fun. We indeed succeeded in reaching that goal! I doubt that anyone who played LW in its days of glory haven't played on the famous D.S.R EuroWar server, in which we spent an incredible amount of time. Definitely one of the most popular servers in Europe!
After a while the goal also evolved into the goal of becoming a better squad, to win more matches and become better individual players. I must say we succeeded with that too. But when we finally started beating the top teams, the end of LW was closing in and TFD nearing release. In the late months of 2002 the LW activity dropped dramatically and the main focus of our attention was now Task Force Dagger.
When TFD was released it was both a joy and a disappointment to a lot of us. Joy, because we had grown tired of LW and were welcoming this new game with open arms, and disappointment because it differed too little from LW. But our liking of the game grew as we started out in our quest for glory and soon became one of the best TFD squads in Europe. We even spanked some cranky elite-wannabe yank`s ass.
After having played TFD for about a year, news about the new DF game Black Hawk Down was presented and it was our destiny to keep on evolving alongside the game. When BHD was released D.S.R started playing other games too, because not all were satisfied with this new game. Thus making the D.S.R community expand dramatically. But that's another story We continued to rock the TFD scene to this very day, but all things must come to an end and so does our TFD-playing.
We would like to thank all the players who have participated in making D.S.R what we are today. Who have spent numerous hours playing this game, arranging matches and creating this well-oiled organization of players.
A "hall of fame" in honor of these players will come up on our homepage shortly and to make sure all the players get their place there please check this list of names and see if anyone is missing.
We would also like to thank some of the actors on Nova, with whom we have had a special relationship. First of all we would like to thank Platoon Wikings (Now PW3) for being our unofficial allies and for being so good friends at the LW scene. Damn we miss the old D.S.R vs =PW= matches! Secondly we would like to thank Nova-Arena (now Gaming-hq) for year after year arranging this great league, in which we have played a lot of matches, both in LW and TFD. Last, but not least, we would like to thank The Veterans for being our sparring partner so many times. It have been nice to have a skilled and stable team of nice lads to play all these matches with.
As of today D.S.R play Delta Force Black Hawk Down, Battlefield 1942, Americas Army Operations and Counterstrike. When Battlefield Vietnam and Delta Force Joint Operations is at sale we will offcourse start playing these games as well. We certainly are looking forward to what the future will bring!
